Summary

Field Trip Assignment Disclaimer: I did not take multiple photos at the Herbert Von King Park, but at least attended the EMW trip to the Imani Community Garden for the whole time. I added my entire collage and free-writing poem into one blog post.

Nature is a universal requirement

Because it helps lives survive

And without nature

No lives would exist

At Herbert Von King Park

I heard birds chirping

Trees providing lives oxygen

Felt the warm sunny vibe

The sun giving natural vitamins

Humans resting and tanning

A dog feeling chill

As I exited Von King

And transferred to the Imani Community Garden

I sensed more nature

Chilling with the chickens

Because animals are naturally essential

Then watered plants and vegetables

Because greens give humans vitamins

Ending my exploration

I had Chick-fil-A for dinner

Enjoying my chicken sandwich

Since the campus provided me with free dinner

Expressing gratitude to the campus

But also reflected on Billie Eilish

Her mission on animal rights and nature

Expecting fans to not just adore her music

But truly respect nature and animals

Calling out animal and environmental destruction

Resulting in me feeling guilty

For being a hypocrite myself

And reminding myself about childhood trauma

Asking my mother if the chickens were misbehaving

When watching chickens getting publicly slaughtered

As humans purchased fresh chicken

While some accompanied children

Concluding my mission on nature

Nature is a universal requirement

Because nature helps humans survive

And animals are part of nature

Since it gives humans natural wellness

But if we keep littering

And publicly slaughtering animals

Especially in front of the younger generation

We are destroying our own Earth

Tearing down universal necessities

And our chance to naturally survive
